Inspired in function by the Spuhr G3 stock, the TBL (Teutonic Butt Lift) was designed to bring modern stock and brace options to the G3/HK91 platform without taking away from the character of the rifle itself.
One of our biggest goals with this adapter was getting the stock where we actually wanted it. Traditional G3 stocks sit relatively low, which worked well with the original iron sights, but becomes less ideal as modern optics and taller mounting solutions are added to the platform.
Our adapter raises the stock mounting position to provide a more natural cheek position when using modern optics while allowing the use of MIL-SPEC AR-15 stocks and braces. This opens the platform up to an enormous selection of modern stock options while retaining the familiar adjustability and ergonomics of the AR-15 buffer tube system.
Raising the stock also effectively lowers the barrel in relation to the shooter’s shoulder, bringing the recoil impulse more in line with the shooter and helping reduce the leverage that contributes to muzzle rise.
Rather than replacing or working around the original recoil system, the adapter was designed to retain the factory G3 buffer and recoil assembly. This allows the rifle to maintain the function of its original buffering system while gaining the ergonomic and modular benefits of a modern adjustable stock or brace.
The adapter is manufactured from durable nylon and features an internal stainless steel spine for additional structural reinforcement. This combination allows us to take advantage of nylon where its properties make sense while reinforcing the adapter internally with steel where additional strength and rigidity are needed.
The adapter was also designed around the existing lines of the G3 receiver, giving the rifle a modern mounting solution without making it look like an entirely different platform.
