CC53 Handguard (HK53/AP53)
The CC53 was our answer to a simple question: How do we modernize the HK53 handguard without making it look like it doesn’t belong on the rifle?
Rather than forcing a completely different aesthetic onto the platform, we designed the CC53 around the original lines of the HK53 while adding the functionality expected from a modern handguard.
CC stands for “Convection Cooling,” and nearly every feature of the handguard was designed around that principle.
The raised M-LOK sections provide the necessary clearance for mounting accessories while simultaneously acting as structural ribs to increase rigidity. The upper ridge reinforces the handguard around its cooling vents, while the vents themselves use a louvered design to promote airflow through the handguard.
The front of the CC53 is deliberately flared to provide additional space for air to enter and circulate around the barrel. At both ends, the handguard returns to a complete hoop around the rifle, increasing rigidity where the structure needs it most.
The result is a lightweight, rigid, and functional handguard where form follows function. Instead of changing the character of the HK53, the CC53 was designed to complement it.
The CC53 is currently designed specifically for HK53-pattern firearms. It can be adapted to fit MP5-pattern firearms with minor modifications; however, a dedicated MP5 variant is coming soon for those looking for a direct-fit option.
Modern where it needs to be, without forgetting what it was designed for.
