We originally sought these out due to their acceleration and deceleration characteristics when using low mass carriers.
Just like a dead-blow hammer, the internal tungsten powder offers a dead blow effect which prevents bounce in both directions.
Not only does it prevent bounce, it even slows acceleration of the carrier from excess gas pressure when using supersonic ammo.
If you need to run a lower reciprocating mass due to your particular needs, or simply for recoil reduction, we highly recommend using this buffer paired with a low mass carrier, instead of simply using a low mass buffer.
It will improve the recoil impulse substantially!
